Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is comprised of the elected officers and standing committee chairs, is charged to lead and coordinate the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board’s efforts. Chair: Payne D. Brown

Advocacy Initiative

The Advocacy Initiative works to advance the interests of Philadelphia’s workforce system by establishing policy positions and communicating with elected officials and other stakeholders central to supporting that system. Advocacy work is organized on an ad hoc basis and engages all members of the board. Chair: Roosevelt Hairston, Jr.

CareerLink

The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board is charged to design, implement, oversee, and evaluate Philadelphia’s one-stop system (CareerLink) consistent with standards aligned with the PWIB’s overall responsibility to build a high-quality local workforce investment system. Chair: Janet H. Ryder

Public Investments Committee

The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board is charged to monitor and evaluate outcomes and impacts of Philadelphia’s overall public workforce investment system, and its alignment with key workforce and economic development priorities. This work is done by a standing Public Investments Committee. Chair: Andrew B. Wigglesworth

Research Committee

The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board is the definitive source for accurate and timely data and research regarding the city's labor force and labor markets needed to make sound investment decisions. The Research Committee provides leadership, focus, and direction for this critical work. Chair: Les Spero

Youth Council

The emerging workforce is critical to the region’s economic future. As a standing committee of the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board, The Youth Council provides leadership and advocacy in support of Philadelphia’s youth workforce investment system and oversees WorkReady Philadelphia and Project U-Turn. The Philadelphia Youth Network staffs the Youth Council. Chair: Tracee Hunt

When necessary, the PWIB organizes other task forces and work groups to advance special initiatives.
