In 2001, the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board created the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board, Inc., a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation, for the purposes of providing staffing and resources to the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board and more generally advancing a human capital agenda for the city and region.
