The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board has governance responsibility for the seven Pennsylvania CareerLink centers located within the city limits. The Pennsylvania CareerLink system, which has over 60 centers statewide, is the mechanism for coordinating a wide range of employment, education, and training related services for seamless delivery to businesses and job seekers. The Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board primarily concerns itself with providing the leadership and information necessary to ensure the local CareerLink centers are positioned to meet the economic and labor supply challenges of the region. Primary implementation partners for the local CareerLink system are the Philadelphia Workforce Development Corporation and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
